Another's point of view!
Have You Ever Really Heard Them? 😊
In couples counselling there is a moment I live for.
It's the moment one person stops defending themselves — and actually hears their partner. Really hears them. Sometimes for the first time in years.
The room changes. Everything shifts.
Because here's the truth about most relationship arguments — both people are right. From where they're standing, in their own experience, with their own history — they are absolutely right.
And both people are desperately waiting to be understood.
But understanding can't happen when everyone is talking and nobody is listening.
We come into relationships carrying everything — our childhood, our past hurts, our fears, our patterns. And when things get difficult we don't just argue with our partner. We argue with every version of hurt we've ever carried.
No wonder it gets complicated.
In couples therapy I create a space where both voices matter equally. Where we slow it all down. Where we ask — not what do you want to say — but what do you actually need the other person to understand?
That question alone can unlock something remarkable.
Joanne came to me for couples counselling and said she couldn't recommend me highly enough. Because it wasn't about taking sides. It never is.
It's about finding each other again.
Are you ready to really listen? 💛
