Bullying in the workplace

Bullying in the workplace

Bullying in the work place is quite common and often ignored or not recognised as bullying at all. It can make you feel worthless, sad or even depressed and is a major cause of anxiety.

We recognise the effects bullying can have on an individual and also on the productive output of a person as well. This can spiral and lead to many different results form poor self esteem and depression, to leaving a job you may have enjoyed in the past.

Bullying can be from a person in charge say you line manager for example or even from another work colleagues or a group.

Some examples of bullying:

Constantly being told your no good at what you're doing.

Having excessive pressure put upon you.

Having other peoples responsibility placed upon you and then not being recognised for what you have done.

Pranks constantly being played on you.

Being ignored.

People whispering or going quiet when you're in the same room.

Being physically abused or sexually abused.

Name calling or being given a nick name which is insulting or offensive.

When you are constantly harassed it can become your natural expectation to be treated like this and this ultimately lowers your self esteem.

We can help you to explore these feelings and turn them around. Sometimes it is a case that until we can begin to feel good about ourselves we can not tackle the often hard subject and put a stop to the bullying.
