Don't google it!
Dr Google Is Not Your Friend. 😊
You felt something. So you Googled it.
And now you're convinced it's serious.
We've all done it. A symptom, a feeling, a behaviour — typed into a search bar at midnight — and suddenly you're reading the worst case scenario at the top of the page.
The internet doesn't know you. It doesn't know your history, your circumstances, your heart. It just serves up information — and we swallow it whole.
I see this constantly in my therapy room. People who have spent months convincing themselves of something they read online. Building a story around it. Living inside it.
And nine times out of ten — it simply isn't true.
Here's the thing about mental health especially — symptoms overlap, experiences vary, and no algorithm can tell you what's really going on inside your mind and your life.
Only a real conversation can do that.
Dr Joe Dispenza says the biggest habit we have is the personality we present to the world every day. And part of that personality — for so many people right now — is an anxious scroller looking for certainty in a place that only creates more doubt.
Put the phone down.
Talk to someone real. Someone qualified. Someone who will actually listen.
That's what I'm here for. 💛
