Drinking
It Numbs It. But It Doesn't Fix It. 😊
I'm not here to judge.
I've sat with some of the most incredible people who got to a point where a drink became two, two became a bottle, and somewhere along the way it stopped being a choice.
It crept up. Quietly. Because life got hard and the drink took the edge off.
And for a while — it worked.
But here's the thing about numbing pain. You can't selectively numb. When you numb the hard stuff, you numb the good stuff too. The joy. The connection. The real you.
The pain doesn't go anywhere. It just waits.
I've worked with clients who drank to forget a relationship, a trauma, a version of themselves they couldn't face sober. Every single one of them was carrying something that deserved to be heard — not drowned out.
Dr Joe Dispenza says the addiction is not to the substance. It's to the emotion the substance produces.
That's where we start. Not with the drinking. With what's underneath it.
No judgement here. Ever.
Just a safe, confidential space to finally talk about it. 💛
