Hurt
Hurt. We've All Got Some. 😊
Nobody gets through life without being hurt.
A betrayal. A loss. A relationship that ended badly. Words said that were never taken back. Something that happened that simply shouldn't have.
And we deal with it the best we can. We push through. We keep busy. We tell ourselves we're fine and eventually — maybe — we start to believe it.
Except the hurt doesn't really go anywhere, does it?
It just gets quieter. Until something pokes it and it's right there again, as raw as the day it happened.
Here's what I've learned after 17 years sitting with people in pain.
You don't get over hurt by ignoring it. You get over it by going through it.
That sounds terrifying. I know. But staying on the outside of your own pain — circling it, avoiding it, numbing it — takes so much more energy than facing it ever does.
Dr Joe Dispenza says the emotions we don't process, we store. And stored pain has a way of showing up everywhere. In our relationships. Our health. Our self worth. Our ability to trust.
Getting over hurt doesn't mean forgetting. It doesn't mean excusing what happened or pretending it was okay.
It means processing it properly. Feeling it fully. Understanding it honestly. And then — when you're ready — choosing to carry it differently.
Not as a wound. As wisdom.
That's what therapy helps you do. Gently. At your own pace. With someone who genuinely cares about the outcome.
You've carried it long enough. 💛
